Information about the building and Phase II

The Sauder School of Business redevelopment project will create a dynamic and inspiring space where students, alumni, and members of the business community can interact and build meaningful connections. The project includes the creation of a new facility to house graduate programs, a dedicated undergraduate centre, and the addition of 55,000 square feet to the existing 267,000 square foot complex.

The renewed space will include flexible spaces to accommodate changes in teaching techniques and technology, open and welcoming areas for students to socialize, network and interact, conference spaces and meeting rooms to connect students, alumni, and the business community, and expanded videoconferencing facilities to bring the global business community into the classroom.

The $85 million revitalization project will be completed in two phases. The first phase, which is currently underway, includes the new building addition and renovations to the main floor, both scheduled for occupancy in January 2010. The new eastward facade of the Henry Angus Building is also included in phase 1 of the project.

In phase 2, renovations are scheduled to the remaining classroom block in the Henry Angus Building, the E.D. MacPhee Building, and the David Lam Management Centre.

To date, thanks to capital gifts from the private sector, the School has secured more than $25 million of its $40 million private fundraising goal in support of the revitalization project. Work continues to secure the additional $15 million required for phase 2 of the project. Support from alumni remains crucial to the project's success.
